Wednesday 29 June

Good times at the park after Toddler Group on Wednesday. Joshie and his mates had such a lovely time in the playground on the swings, the see saw, the slide and the roundabout and then after a spot of lunch they spent some time investigating ... a hole and the bin!!! And the Daddies wonder what we do all day while they're at work. Hope you like these pics of the "boyz in da hole" and "the boyz in da bin". The girls even joined in for the last adventure in the hole and it was worthy of a big "hooray"!!

Wednesday 29 June

Fun times at Toddler Group. Joshie loves playing in the kitchen and had a particularly good time ironing this week. Fiona hopes that bodes well for the future. Then some see saw madness with Anais and Jack.

Monday 27 June

We home a quiet day at home on Sunday after church and we thoroughly enjoyed that. Fiona thought that might mean we'd be ready for a bit of adventure today...but she didn't factor in the weather. After a bit of reclining on the new baby's mat, we headed for Wisley to run Joshie around for a bit. But it was just sooooooo hot!! We couldn't stay long and we had to finish off our visit with an iceblock (Aust)/lolly (Eng) to cool down.

When we got home Nanna had a skype call with her quilting friends and Joshie said hello to all the laydees. None of us managed our usual nap this afternoon because we were just all too hot and uncomfortable. We are hoping it's a bit cooler tomorrow and we might seek out a swimming pool.

Saturday 25 June

Lionel, Nanna and Joshua spent a few hours constructing "Joshie's House" in the morning. That required Joshua to be in full "Bob the Builder" dress complete with his own hammer. The instructions indicated it should take 2 people about 2 hours to finish the construction job. We suspect they didn't factor in the assistance of Bob the Builder which significantly delayed this particular job!!

After a nap we headed to the Greenwoods for some afternoon play with a few of the NCT "babies", some swimming in their hot tub and a delicious BBQ. Joshua enjoyed playing with Ernie, Anais and Lily and they all played together and shared toys admirably. There was also 3 little siblings and a few grandparents in attendance and they were also extremely well-behaved :)

Friday 24 June

Joshua's best friend Anais visited today and they played beautifully together. Anais' mummy and little sister, Odile ("Baby Deal") also visited and we had a lovely morning. When Anais' mummy had to pick up a few things in town Joshua and Anais tried to have a nap but Fiona called the attempt to an end when Joshua started licking Anais and she thought it was beyond hilarious. But we managed to achieve an hour on the bed and felt that was a sufficient achievement.

As a special treat, Grandma Liz and Pippa also joined us for a cup of tea. We always love seeing them and Grandma Liz enjoyed a special cuddle with Odile.

In the afternoon, we had a quick visit to see Maisie and her grandma before we picked up a takeaway dinner for everyone. Joshie even got a bit of time at the train station watching the trains before we picked up Daddy. He was a little disappointed he couldn't get ON a train but was pretty content to watch the trains coming in and out of the station - especially the really fast ones!!

Thursday 23 June

Mummy came downstairs to breakfast this morning to find Joshua playing with Daddy's new iPad which he has been given to play with for a few days by his boss. Mummy can't believe how competent Joshua was in operating this new toy. Daddy found an app which had pictures of animals and vehicles and when you pressed one of the pictures it would tell you what sound that animal or vehicle made. The wonderment on Joshua's face kept us entertained all through breakfast.

Joshua's favourite noise was the bee because his Daddy would make silly faces as he "followed" the bee through the sky until it landed on a surface when Daddy could slap it. Joshua pressed the bee button many times so that Daddy could repeat his visual comedy routine over and over ... and over :)

We got out to Tune Time for a bit o' singing and dancing and stopped in at Squires on the way home to visit the donkeys (Chalky, Neddy and Penfold) and have a spot of lunch. One of those spur of the moment things that turned out to be quite fun.

Nanna and Joshie went for another walk to Woking and when they returned Joshua was clutching a "make your own gingedbread man" pack from Sainsburys which helped us to make it through that last critical 30 minutes before dinner is ready to go on the table...

Wednesday 22 June

We had another fun morning at our church's Toddler Group this morning. Joshie was particularly sweet with Anais this morning insisting that he needed TWO biscuits so he could give one to her and then spending several minutes cuddling her from several different directions while two Mummies and 1 Nanna watched indulgently from a distance. Extra special because they didn't know we were watching them.

In the afternoon we had yet more rain so instead of a trip to Wisley we opted for a walk to Woking where Joshua and Nanna stocked up on tissues (which they both need in abundance at the moment) and some treats for Joshua's playdate with Anais on Friday morning. You can see Joshua trying out the new crayons. Mummy loves the way he holds his crayon - she thinks he looks very grown up.
