Tuesday 19 May

More flowers from Auntie Julie are being admired on our dining table today. And we've posted our first family portrait for you.
Unfortunately Joshua isn't very happy today. And that means Lionel and Fiona aren't very happy either. Hard to say what's gone wrong today but there you have it. We're going to check temperature now and then we're going to go for our first walk in the pram. And after that, Li and Fi may just need to drown their sorrows in drink. Just kidding. We're just tired and frustrated and praying that he falls asleep soon because he's been awake and unhappy for a long time now. Am sure all the parents out there know this feeling...
Fi didn't last very long on the walk - lack of sleep caught up and she went home for a snooze. But Lionel and Joshua took a very long walk and Joshua finally settled to sleep. When he got home he continued sleeping for a bit and then took a really, really long feed and the evening was better than the afternoon.
For the 4th night in a row Lionel has woken during the night (at least once, but sometimes several times), started searching an odd corner of the room or bed (or even under the bed) and then turned to ask Fiona, "Where is the baby?" He has no recollection of these episodes in the morning and they are a bit traumatic for everyone. Please pray that these episodes stop soon. Fiona isn't sure she can cope with another one of these heartstopping questions in the middle of the night.

  1. Hey guys. Thanks so much for all the updates. Feel like we're sharing this special time with you. Yes, we remember the very unsettled days...so exhausting, heart-wrenching, frustrating, confusing...but they do end. Also, I had the "Where's the baby?!" dreams. Woke Leon up as I felt his chest looking for the baby, who was always safely tucked up in the next room! Love to you all. Tali, and the boys.
